Professor John Burn MD FRCP FRCPCH FRCOG FMedSci

Professor Burn is acting as a medical and scientific advisor to the company, is head of the Institute of Human Genetics at Newcastle University, a top rated research centre, and an honorary consultant at the Newcastle Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust where he was the director of regional genetic services from 1989 to 2004. He has extensive experience as a government advisor and broadcaster. He was a founder member of the UK Human Genetics Commission and 2007 President of the European Society of Human Genetics. Recent appointments include Chair of the Genetics Committee of the National Institute of Health Research, Head of the new NIHR Collaborative Group on Genetics in Healthcare and Lead Clinician for NHS North East. In the latter role he will have responsibilty for change management among the clinicians serving the 2.5 million people of North East England.
