HIV AND DRUG RESISTANT TB
QuantuMDx’s commercial strategy is to focus on growth markets where there is well defined market need. We have formed a joint venture with The Cape Biotech Trust in Cape Town, South Africa to develop Q-POC which can deliver rapid and accurate sub-Saharan infectious disease testing, focusing primarily on HIV and TB testing.
HIV and TB are major causes of morbidity and mortality within the continent of Africa and particularly, the sub-Saharan region. Early, rapid and accurate detection and diagnosis of these diseases is more likely to result in improved survival rates and a better prognosis, by treating the pathogen promptly and with the correct target drug regimes.
Our mission is to develop our affordable and user-friendly
Q-POC technology to deliver a diagnostic device that is able to accurately detect and diagnose families of diseases both in clinical and rural settings.
In addition we are developing our Q-POC technology to embrace a wealth of functionality that will allow doctors and health professionals to fully integrate results into conventional patient records.
BIO-CHIPS
Each disposable, disease detection plastic cartridge comprises of three integrated biochips:
- Sample preparation/DNA extraction,
- DNA amplification; and
- Biosensor
Each of these biochips represents a unique commercial opportunity which QuantuMDx is currently exploring.
